2025年4月8日〜6月22日までワタリウム美術館で開催されている「鴨治晃次展 | 不必要なもので全体が混乱しないように」の公式カタログ。鴨治は1959年以降ポーランドに移り住み、以来66年にわたり彼の地で作家として活動を続けてきた。日本国内では初の回顧展となる本展は、60年にわたって制作された膨大な点数の作品から各年代の重要作品を選び、鴨治の芸術の基本的な資質を示すものとなっている。同展カタログとして編纂された本書は展示作品をはじめ、参考となるその他の作品図版を収録。同時にアーティスト自身による序文、キュレーター、マリア・ブレヴィンスかによる論考、加須屋明子、蔵屋美香、水沢勉らによるエッセイも掲載している。

The official catalog for the exhibition “Koji Kamoji: Don't Let the Unnecessary Overshadow the Whole”, which is being held at the Watari-um Museum of Contemporary Art from April 8th to June 22nd, 2025. Kamoji moved to Poland in 1959 and has continued to work as an artist there for the past 66 years. This exhibition, the first retrospective of his work to be held in Japan, features a selection of important works from each decade, chosen from the huge number of works he has produced over the past 60 years, and demonstrates the fundamental qualities of Kamoji's art. This book, which was compiled as a catalogue for the exhibition, includes illustrations of the works on display as well as other works that can be used as reference. It also includes a foreword by the artist himself, an essay by the curator, Maria Brewińska, and essays by Akiko Kasuya, Mika Kuraya, and Tsutomu Mizusawa.
